GenomeRNAi v17 released

GenomeRNAi version 17.0 contains a total of 687 RNAi screen: 478 in human and in 209 Drosophila. In order to facilitate the submission and release process, from now it is possible to visualize submitted screens and publications also before the new database version is released. For performance and availability, We switched from DAS to the currently popular bioinformatics file formats bigbed and 2bit in the Genome browser. Also we updated the Dalliance genome browser to latest 0.13 stable version.
Many thanks to Falkenberg et al. that submitted a screen on an anti-cancer agent sensitivity and to all the users of GenomeRNAi that sent us feedbacks and reactions.

GenomeRNAi v16 released

GenomeRNAi 16.0 takes the total of human RNAi screens to 467, and to 207 in Drosophila. The number of gene-phenotype associations has increased to over 2,7 million. Many thanks to Hosono et al. who submitted a screen on Drosophila airway maturation. Try out our new interactive graphical representation of gene-phenotype relationships (example)!

GenomeRNAi version 14 released

GenomeRNAi 14.0 is a data release. The database now contains 217 RNAi screens in human, and 201 screens in Drosophila. The total number of gene-phenotype associations has increased to over 1,2 million. Many thanks to V. Gama who submitted a screen on Cytochrome c degradation and to A. Cole who submitted a Lentiviral shRNA 'Achilles Heel' screen.

GenomeRNAi version 13 released

This is a data release. The database now features 194 RNAi screens in human, and 183 screens in Drosophila. The total number of gene-phenotype associations has increased to over 950,000. We have also implemented links to EuropePMC. Many thanks to Gilad Sivan who submitted a genome-wide screen on vaccinia infection. As ever, we welcome your own data submission!

GenomeRNAi version 12 released

This release features 168 RNAi screens in human, and 181 screens in drosophila, as well as a NEW functionality - overlay genes sharing the same phenotype onto networks in StringDB. GenomeRNAi is recommended data repository by Nature’s new “Scientific Data“ publication format. Looking forward to your RNAi data submissions! Europe PMC provides links to GenomeRNAi - check out the current list.

GenomeRNAi version 11.1 released

This release gives access to a beta version of our NEW screen comparison tool. We'd really appreciate your feedback very early on in the development of this new feature. TEST IT OUT and LET US KNOW what we should add or change and how you'd ideally like to use this functionality!
We'd also appreciate if you could take just a few minutes to complete our user survey!

GenomeRNAi version 11 released

This release features a new data submission functionality: data submitters are provided with their own login space for uploading and viewing their data, and for sharing them with colleagues/reviewers. Frequent hitters can now be filtered by number or percentage of hits. The database contains 145 RNAi screens in human, and 174 screens in drosophila.

GenomeRNAi version 9.1 - minor update

This is a minor update affecting mainly the Frequent hitters page. We have introduced a new column indicating the reagents that have been reported to produce the phenotypes. In addition, the frequent hitter list is now available for download.

GenomeRNAi version 9.0 released

This release features a dynamic genome browser for each gene, displaying gene, reagent and phenotype data via the DAS technology. Further we have added graphs indicating the score distribution and the position of individual scores on the gene details page. HeLa cell morphology images are available for the results reported by Fuchs et al.

GenomeRNAi version 8.0 released

The database now contains 127 RNAi screens in human, and 164 screens in drosophila, of which 50 have been performed in vivo. We have added a Frequent hitters page, indicating which genes frequently show a phenotype. A DAS server allows the visualisation of phenotype data in a genome browser context.
